Model motion to affiliate to Greece Solidarity Campaign
Following the trade union solidarity delegation the Greece we appeal for organisations to affiliate to the Greece Solidarity Campaign and to support its activities.
1. Greece Solidarity Campaign
Following the Appeal for Solidarity with the People of Greece, called by Tony Benn, and signed by thousands across Britain and the world, we have established a Greece Solidarity Campaign. The first act of this solidarity campaign was a successful delegation to Athens where we met representatives of anti-austerity organisations, parties and movements.
Greece is the test-bed for the most extreme measures imposed by what Mikis Theodorakis and Manolis Gezos call the new Empire of Money. These have involved the mass impoverishment of Greek people, the systematic destruction of their social and welfare provision, and the abrogation of agreements between employers and trade unions contrary to the constitution of Greece and international conventions.
The Greek people have shown mass resistance to these outrages and we commit to build a movement of solidarity with them.

2. Motion
This branch/trades union council/ region/national organisation etc resolve to affiliate to the Greece Solidarity Campaign and to support its activities.
